Photo(s) A Day - Day 23: Cherro Runs

This evening we took Bear to the park by our house, so that she could sniff around and do her business.  We had every intention of walking on, but ended up running around with her and making a game of it.

One of us holds on to her while the other one takes off running, you release her and anticipate a bite in the butt! So weird, I know!

I kind of love our time together!

Photo A Day - Day 22: Long-Time Friends

We started out the Memorial Day holiday with breakfast at Red Rock's buffet.  I'm not huge on buffets, but we figured with a price-tag of $5 a person; you really can't go wrong!  So glad we went and so glad that we got to be in good company of my long-time friend, Emily, her husband; Mark, brother; Brigham, and his new (and very tall - just like him!) wife; Amy.  They were all on a fun little getaway for the holiday weekend!

It was so fun catching up!  We go way back...like Rockford-way back...circa 1998!  I am grateful for friends that stay in your life and for being able to pick up from where you last left off!

Also, Mark and Steven were two peas in a pod.  Kind of enjoyed having to tear them apart!

*I should probably note that I am not a morning person, hence the puffy eyes and tired look!

*I should also note that this photo was courtesy of the fabulous Miss Emily!  Isn't she a doll?!

Photo A Day - Day 21: "Forget Me Not"

We got these cute little magnets at church today.  It's pretty, insightful, and has found it's place on my fridge.

Great lesson on a great talk.  I (and everyone else for that matter) need to be reminded of this!

PS- I love President Uchtdorf - I think he falls under the same category of looks as my dad and grandpa.

Do you see it?!

Photo A Day - Day 20: Star Nursery

We finally have grass in our side yard, thanks to Steven and my father-in-law!  Yard (and house for that matter!) are coming along! Yay!

Bear will finally have a place to roll around and do her business.  I have felt so guilty about tearing her away from lots of grass to rocks, gravel, and dirt!

This morning, we stopped by Star Nursery for our sod.  I was in Heaven! It felt like a little oasis...I didn't know that Vegas had so many different varieties of plants.  People sure don't utilize them like they should.  Maybe it's the fact that I was raised where the green grass grows and people take pride in their yards, but often times I feel depressed about the landscaping here!

I must be an old lady, because yard work/design has become a new love of mine.

Photo A Day - Day 19: Competition Is On

Competition runs fierce in this household.  I blame it on the Dodsons.  Seriously, get a group of them together, and try and play a board game or any game for that matter.  It gets ugly.  Steven and I are back on one of our 'Words With Friends' kicks!

I may or may not have cursed at Steven when he got smug with me!

Photo A Day - Day 18: Love My Job

I love my job.  I've mentioned it several times before.  I love the kids that I work with and I love the people who I get to work with.  I love the diversity that I get here.  It feels comfortable. . .it's the same kind of diversity that I grew up with.
Today, happened to be my yearly evaluation, which went great!  I couldn't be happier with the feedback that I received.  It must mean that I am in the right place!

Back to the people who I work with. . .we have the most awesome lunch lady!  She hooks me up with packs and packs of raisins, animal crackers, and graham crackers.  There's nothing better than getting free baking ingredients!  I told her that I would bake her something in exchange for all of the free stuff that she has given me.  She was excited!

Tonight, I made Chewy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies from none other than the fabulous Miss Martha!  Listening to my 'Joy Formidable' radio station on Pandora and baking in my kitchen = a pure bliss!

All in all, a good day!

Photo A Day - Day 17: Study Time

In order to get into Grad School for Education, I have to take the Praxis I before I can do anything else.  I'm studying. . . it's rough.  Not the material, just the fact that I have to sit down and study when I could be reading Nie's book. . . which I LOVE, by the way!
I'm giddy over the part where she and her husband, Christian, meet.  So cute! Brings back the memories of what it was like to fall in love with my huz.  New love, so sweet!

Test is scheduled for June 9th!
